So, living in Middletown is very far off from living in Buffalo! It is December 19, 2008 and we are getting our first snow of the year... there have been flurries and such; but until today no accumulations.
Today was awful.... woke up this morning and drove to work in very nice weather. It started snowing about noon and hasn't stopped yet. We are expecting about 12". I know that isn't much for someone who grew up in Buffalo but let me get to the annoying part...
In Middletown, The plows don't start until after the snow has stopped falling. that means that my commute home from work was horrible. The highways were covered in snow and it was impossible for my tires to get traction...I was slipping all over the road. Probably the worst weather I have ever driven in! (And that includes when Jessica, Todd, Roy, and I went on that double date in the storm of 2001, when we got 6 feet of snow in 12 hours!) I got home and pulled in the driveway and now my car is stuck on the hill, blocking the whole entire driveway. I walked up to the house and then had to walk back down to my car to get my purse. On my way down the hill I slid and totally busted up my ankle! At least it's finally starting to feel better!
I TOTALLY AM READY TO MOVE SOMEWHERE THAT IS DOESN'T SNOW ANYMORE!
Unfortunately, I'm no so sure there are any area's of the country that gets absolutely no snow.. I think i should go to Africa.
